The Glory of RSS Feeds

Before today, I had no idea what an RSS feed was. Since I am for the most part tecnologically inept, this is not a suprise. RSS feeds stream pertinent updated news to you on your blog, reader, or any other home page that might possess the capabilities for feeds. For example, one of my live feeds is a yahoo sports feed, related to football. As some may already know, i am an avid football fan, and it makes sense to have this feed on a home page, especially with the life that I lead. You can also post world news (the BBC is just so much better than anything we have here), and get updates on emerging tech (such as the lovely IPad, i sooo wish that i had one!!). This technology is most definitly worthwhile to look into, and could potentially be useful not only in life, but in the classroom as well.

Emergent tech 2!!!!!!!!!!!!! Survs

The Emergent Technology that I decided to use for my second one was the Survs tech, which focuses on the creation and distribution of surveys. This technology in particular interested me because of it inherent usefulness in one of my other classes that I am taking right now. In my E341 class, I have to go and interview either a high school senior or a middle school eighth grader. Our options on how to go about this are rather lengthy, and I dont wish to bore you with them, but one of the options is a personal interview in which we can either administer a survey of the various topics for interview, and then interview them in person in a more detailed way, or just interview them. I chose the former.

The website makes it incredibly easy to formulate questions and gives explainations that help to accurately dictate questions to the survey takers. Its easily navigable, there are many features that allow for easy formatting and quick editing. It is especially easy to display the information to others for taking the survey. Overall, the website is very helpful for any survey (for a set price) and increases the speed at which you can complete a survey. Here is a link for my survey:

My Blog and Myself

Well, i guess i should reintroduce myself. I am Eric, and as you can see in the slot to the right, i am an education major and a huge fan of the Colts (and yes, I do Believe!!!!!). I wanted to start this blog post by giving some insight into how I was able to create such an awesome blog, and maybe i might have some tips for others who wish to later revise their Blog.

One thing that i have noticed on this site is its similarity with facebook in the way not only that it is organized, but also in the way that it is tabed. The profile is very easily edited from any number of pages and contains many useful items. For example, a useful tool is design tab, where you can quickly and easily access your page layout. I quickly and easily moved my gadgets into places that were more appropriate for them in mere seconds through the click and drop process. It was also easy to upload pictures from my computer as well as from my facebook page with the easy accessability to pasting pictures onto my new page.

With this new technology, i feel that we can easily share information with each other through our blog pages and communicate ideas on how we can improve ourselves as students and future teachers.
